Thriving at all elevations in both warm and cold zones. Developed by Dr. K S Venkataramani in 1972 with the help of Nilgiris/Brooklands Estate.

Also called as 'Sundaram'. Developed by Dr. K S Venkataramani in 1969. Developed from a mother bush in Nilgiris. One of the outstanding tea clones developed by the UPASI Tea Scientific Department. Its performance under varying conditions in different tea districts at varying elevations and climatic zones has been most promising. Orthotropic and vigorous grower with an excellent spread and dense plucking table. Response to manuring is remarkable and returns per unit of input are higher than many other clones.
